When is the best time to visit Singapore?
There is no bad month, only wetter and drier ones. The driest spells are the late north-east monsoon, February to early March, and the south-west monsoon, June to September. November to January is the wettest stretch. It is hot and humid all year, with little change in temperature.
Singapore sits near the equator and, as the Department of Statistics puts it, has a tropical climate with high, uniform temperatures, abundant rainfall and high humidity[2]. Its year is shaped by two monsoons separated by inter-monsoon periods: the north-east monsoon from December to early March and the comparatively drier south-west monsoon from June to September[2].
Within that, the department notes that December and January, the early part of the north-east monsoon, are the wettest time of year, when monsoon surges can bring prolonged heavy rain; that February is usually the driest month; and that afternoon thunderstorms are common all year, especially in the inter-monsoon periods of late March to May and October to November[2].
How hot and wet is Singapore each month?
Changi's average high moves only between 30.5 °C and 32.4 °C, and its low between 24.3 °C and 25.7 °C. Rain ranges from 105 mm in February to 332 mm in December, and sunshine from 199 hours in February to 133 in November and December.

Climate: WMO climatological normals 1991–2020 for Changi, submitted by the Meteorological Service Singapore[1]; days with rain are days with at least 1 mm; figures rounded. Visitors: international visitor arrivals, Department of Statistics, data from the Singapore Tourism Board[3].
Even the wettest months average more than 130 hours of sunshine at Changi[1]. The numbers that matter more for a visitor from the Gulf are the nights: Changi's average low never falls below 24.3 °C[1], so evenings are warm and humid in every month.
The department also notes that Sumatra squalls occasionally bring widespread heavy rain and gusty winds during the south-west monsoon and the inter-monsoon periods[2]; check the forecast before a day on the water.
When is Singapore busiest?
In July and August and in January. Singapore counted 1,680,771 visitor arrivals in July 2025 and 1,633,495 in January, against 1,245,947 in June and 1,254,347 in September, the quietest months. Visitors from the UAE came most in July and August.
Visitors from the UAE follow the Gulf's summer: 12,316 arrived in July 2025 and 11,549 in August, against 5,750 in January, the lowest month[3]. That is the south-west monsoon, one of Singapore's drier seasons[2].
Events matter too. The 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix runs from 9 to 11 October 2026, according to the organiser[4], the weekend before the UAE's October mid-term.
How do the UAE school holidays line up with Singapore?
The summer holidays, from 3 July 2027, fall in the drier south-west monsoon and Singapore's busiest month. Spring break, 5 to 11 April, falls in the thundery inter-monsoon; the October mid-term follows the Grand Prix; and winter break falls in the wettest weeks of the year.
