Currency converter

Converts an amount between any two of the 154 currencies the site offers, and shows the same amount in the currencies travellers ask about most.

Search by name, by code or by what people call a currency (dollar, dirham, renminbi), and swap the two sides with one press.

Rates come from ExchangeRate-API's open access feed, which publishes one set of rates a day against the United States dollar. Converting between two other currencies goes through the dollar: the amount divided by the first currency's rate, multiplied by the second's.

The result is rounded to the second currency's smallest unit (two decimals for most currencies, none for the yen, three for the Kuwaiti dinar) and written in your language's number format. Rates are shown to six significant figures.

These are indicative rates, not a quote. Banks, card schemes and exchange desks set their own rates, often add a margin or a fee, and move their rates during the day; this page changes once a day.

If the feed cannot be reached, the converter keeps the last rates it received and shows when they were published; if it has none, it says so rather than inventing a rate.
